Bologna Illustrators Exhibit 2016

Held annually since 1967, the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition is part of the city's Children's Book Fair and one of the world's top showcases for the genre. For those who couldn't make it to Italy for this year's edition, the Itabashi Art Museum now displays the work of 77 winning artists – including ten Japanese contributors – representing the very best of over 3,000 total submissions. There's also a special section looking back at the 50-year history of the Bologna fair, explaining how what started as a humble local exhibition grew to be counted among the most prestigious gatherings for illustrators anywhere.
