All the way back in 2019, Time Out Market New York opened its doors. Located on the historic Dumbo waterfront, the food hall came onto the scene featuring the best of the city under one roof. Over the past five years (six in May), top-notch eateries from across the five boroughs have graced our hallways, from the best in barbecue and bagels to the city’s top fried chicken. So, we figured, why not do it all again? Following the F train to Manhattan, Time Out Market is breaking ground in Union Square this fall. This will be the second Time Out Market in NYC and the first in Manhattan.
Opening on the ground floor of Zero Irving, an innovation and technology hub, "Time Out Market, Union Square" will feature a curated mix of the city’s best culinary and cultural experiences. The 10,000-square-foot market hall will soon house seven kitchens, a fully-stocked bar and a stage set to host talent and performances from local artists. The 300-seat space will also feature an outdoor terrace. The new destination will build upon the legacy of Time Out Markets across the world—all with the mission of featuring the city’s best and up-and-coming culinary and cultural talents.
“Time Out Market New York, Union Square will not just be a place to eat: it will be a platform for culinary and cultural talents—where you can discover the city’s flavors and fresh ideas, and experience New York’s creativity all at once; a place for people and the local community to come together,” said Vice President for US Time Out Market, Virginia Rector-Birbal. “It will be for everyone, every day—for all ages, budgets, tastes—under one roof.”
The opening marks the 11th Time Out Market in the world, the first of which opened in Lisbon in 2014. Seven more markets are on the horizon for Time Out—set to open from 2025 to 2027.
