Nuri and her husband Jordi opened Bar Núria in Poblenou in 1962, where she managed the kitchen and he took care of the customers. 60 years and three generations later, this legacy is continued at Bar Nuri, which continues to offer seasonal small plates and tapas, with a menu featuring all of the restaurant’s most iconic recipes. These are the classic tapas you’d expect to find at your local bar, but cooked with Bar Nuri’s signature excellence: award-worthy croquettes (they even have elevated croquettes, made from Iberian pork cheek), fresh and perfectly fried Andalusian-style calamari, and an exceptional ensaladilla rusa (potato salad with tuna). Portions are designed to be shared and as simple as the menu may seem, it’s very hard to choose what to order. As well as the tapas dishes, you’ll also find slow-cooked dishes like a hearty fricandó (Catalan beef stew). Their commitment to working with seasonal ingredients allows them to prepare delicious off-menu specials.
