The Hunter Valley is one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions for good reason, so when Scarborough Wine Co started winning awards within such a renowned region, it was a clear indication that they’re doing something right.
Not only did Scarborough Wine Co win Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the Year in 2021, but Jerome Scarborough himself was also named Hunter Valley Viticulturist of the Year last year.
That’s why we were excited to learn that Scarborough Wine Co has put together three brand new wine tasting experiences just in time for an Easter trip to the Valley. Here’s a rundown of what they have on offer:
Scarborough’s pop-up boules green comes with its own wine cart, so you can enjoy a relaxed wine tasting for $50 per person while you play throughout April.
Easter shiraz and chocolate tasting
This special tasting is only available over the Easter long weekend for $35 per person. Your host will guide you through pairings of chocolate from local chocolatier Cocoa Nib with a back vintage of shiraz from the Obsessive and Black label ranges.
Keepers of the Flame Chardonnay tasting
Go beyond the wine with this premium tasting hosted all throughout April. For $90 per person, you’ll head into the vineyard to see the Scarborough family’s sustainability and diversity practices in action.
Bonus: Classic Hunter Valley tasting
Scarborough’s award-winning classic Hunter Valley tastings will also be running, with 30-minute or one-hour durations and three different wine ranges to choose from, priced at $20 or $40 per person. A local cheese plate is served with the tasting, because who doesn't love wine and cheese together?
