Taste the fanciest drops from more than 50 of the Hunter’s swankiest wineries for a full day of vino investigation at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. They’ll be pouring everything from a full-bodied shiraz to a crisp riesling, plus a couple of brewskies and ciders to break up the grape-fest.
The brewed batches will be coming from the Sydney Brewery Hunter Valley kegs and the vino stalls include Tempus Two, Brokenwood Wines, Calais Estate and Adam’s Leap Wines, plus many more local names. There will also be five food stalls making lunch throughout the day. Your $15 ticket to the festival– it’s $22 at the door, so be savvy and book online – includes a wine glass and five tasting tokens to get you started. You can pick up extra tokens for $1 each in rounds of five.
A few new features are popping up at the 2019 edition of the festival, like the interactive food and wine events (the interactivity will hopefully go beyond the consuming of both). Despite the booze, this is actually a family-friendly event. There’ll be activities for all ages, from jumping castles to train and carousel rides plus face painting. And since the kids won’t be knocking back any drinks back, they get in for free.
