Time Out says

By now you’re probably familiar with YCK Laneways – the vibrant agglomeration of more than a dozen Sydney bars clustered around York, Clarence and Kent Streets. A focal point for nightlife in the city, YCK Laneways has played a big part in the rebirth of going out in the city.

This April, get ready for YCK Intersections – a brand new program of in-venue and outdoor events across YCK venues lasting six weeks. A convergence of food and cocktails, community and creativity, night and day, YCK Intersections offers Sydneysiders more reasons than ever to visit this buzzing precinct.

From April 11 through to May 22, visit YCK Laneways bars to see DJs, live music, poetry and much more. Get your tarot cards read at Stitch Bar; witness fire dancing at Since I Left You; and take part in Drag Bingo at the Prince of York.

Celebrity chefs Manu Fiedel, Anna Polyviou and Luke Hines will be designing unique dishes to be on offer in selected venues. Titled Chef’s Selection, these canapés, snacks and desserts will be designed to complement the bars in which they are served, and available for a limited two-week period. Hines will craft a late-night snack (available April 5-May 12); Feidel will create a cocktail and canapé pairing (April 11-24); and Polyviou will whip up three different desserts (May 13-22). Check the website for more details.

On the weekend of April 22-24 get ready for Master the Art, an openair series of masterclasses by day and live music by night. Love cocktails? Brilliant bartenders from Maybe Sammy and Cantina OK! will teach you how to make perfect cocktails at home for any occasion. Want to learn more about wine? Let From Sunday Winemakers guide you through wine varieties and learn to taste the nuances. Got a yen for gin? Join the gin masterclass being held by the newly opened Hickson House Distilling Co and delve into the wonderful world of the juniper spirit.

At night, Barrack Street will be turned into a live music haven, with performances from Sneaky Sound System, Wafia, Day1, Lisi, Üla, Hauskey, Little Green, Kota Banks, Cloe Terare, East Av3, B Wise, A.Girl and JessB. The sounds kick off from 6pm, and the focus will be indie (Friday April 22), electronic (Saturday April 23) and hip hop and RnB (Sunday April 24).

YCK Intersections is proudly funded by NSW Government, sponsored by Bacardi, and Time Out is media partner.
