Oceans of fun await for the whole family at the Australian National Maritime Museum this summer. You can dive deep into the history of our underwater world with an exciting day out at Wonderwater from December 22 to February 4. The Sea Museum’s exciting summer program will feature brand-new exhibitions, incredible interactive experiences, special kid’s activities and so much more. The best part? You can experience it all at once with a Wonderwater See It All ticket starting at $15, with free entry for members and children under four.
Visitors can connect via the universal portal of storytelling in exhibitions including Valerie Taylor: An Underwater Life and the world-premiere Ocean Photographer of the Year. The adventure continues on the water too with exclusive performances of Puccini’s one-act opera masterpiece, Il Tabarro, which will take place on the Maritime Museum’s historic lightship, the Carpentaria, during Sydney Festival from January 9-13.
Kids can jump aboard the fun too with a dedicated school holiday program of hands-on activities and family-friendly events. They can get creative in the Great Southern Lego Reef build-zone, meet a mermaid every Monday as part of the art installation Rainbow, Mermaid, Fireworks, and watch the dream-like shadow play The Sea is Still a Mystery.
