If you like to wine and dine against a backdrop of world-renowned music, then you’ll want to secure tickets to Venture Beyond by Penfolds. Staged across two nights on August 18 and 19, attendees will be amongst the first in the world to try premium new-release wines from the Penfolds Collection 2023.
Venture Beyond returns to Carriageworks in 2023 and will build on the success of its sold-out 2022 event with a thematic-inspired menu curated by one of Australia’s most impressive chefs, interactive art, DJs and globally-recognised musical performances. This year, guests will be swept into an immersive journey of sea exploration, inspired by Penfolds' pioneering spirit of venturing beyond into the unknown.
The renowned Australian winemaker has partnered with Melbourne-based artist Mikaela Stafford who will bring the deep sea theme to life with large-scale light-based installations, immersive digital works, and vibrant 3D printed sculptures.
Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant executive chef, Scott Huggins adds new depth to the Venture Beyond culinary offerings with a cutting-edge menu inspired by life ‘under the sea’. If you’re a lover of seafood, there will be a mix of inspired seafood dishes – think lobster rolls, fish tacos and oysters. For those that think “if it’s from the sea, it’s not for me” – there will be plenty of delicious food offerings to sink your teeth into.
Pair your canapés with tastings of the newly released Penfolds Collection 2023 which comprises wines from three counties and two hemispheres – Australia, USA and France – all underpinned by the brand’s enduring house style. Your wine-tasting journey will begin with a Thiénot x Penfolds Champagne Brut Rosé NV on arrival followed by the opportunity to taste a selection of newly released red and white wines including Penfolds Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling 2023. Free-flowing wines from the Penfolds Max’s Range will also be on offer throughout the event.
As you discover your new favourite release, you can enjoy energy-lifting entertainment from New Zealand-based DJ duo Sweet Mix Kids, who will play a lively set incorporating live instruments. Fresh from performing at Glastonbury, chart-topping UK musician and DJ Example will headline the event across the two nights. His much-loved electronic, rap and pop tunes will flow through Carriageworks, turning up the heat on an already buzzy event.
