Forget forking out for a plane ticket to Japan – the cherry blossoms are coming to you this year. Running from August 18 to 27, the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is making its return to Auburn’s Japanese Botanic Gardens in what promises to be the biggest Japanese festival in the country. While the blooming cherry blossoms are the centrepiece, the week-long festival promises a spectacular showcase of Japanese culture with food, drink, music, garden shows, art, anime, cosplay and even a sumo competition.
