Do you love good food and coffee, and have always wondered what it’d be like to be a MasterChef judge for an evening? Enter, The Cut – a one-off dining experience where four top Sydney chefs will cook their best dish for you to taste and crown the winner. Held by Mecca Coffee and The Ironclad Co at Mecca Alexandria, The Cut has been created to celebrate killer talent in the kitchen, encourage creativity and foster inspiration. And of course, to put on a pretty incredible dinner for you.
On the line-up is Toby Stansfield from Lola's Italian & Bar in Bondi, Jack Fithenry from The Wedge in Glebe, Jen Shaw from Two Good Co and Cathy Tran from Kiln in Surry Hills, who will be keen to knock your socks off with their creations. But here’s the thing: each chef’s dish will need to incorporate Mecca Coffee somehow, as well as use The Ironclad Co cast iron cookware. Think of it as a MasterChef pressure test. But this time you get to eat and judge.
Formidable restaurant critic and former Time Out Sydney Food & Drink Editor Myffy Rigby will host the evening, peppering the night with interesting insights and delicious tidbits. Each ticket includes cocktails and snacks on arrival, followed by a five-course dinner, one carafe of wine per two people, and a goodie bag.
Plus, 20 per cent of ticket sales will be donated to Two Good Co, a Sydney-based business that supports, empowers and employs women with lived experience of homelessness, domestic violence and complex trauma.
However you slice it, it’s set to be a damn good night. The Cut is $180 per person, and you can snap up tickets here.
