Campbelltown Arts Centre (C-A-C) is dialling up the fun this summer with a massive, free program of after-hours entertainment from November 2 until January 27. Adults are invited to join the cultural party on Friday and Saturday nights with exclusive artist talks, creative workshops and musical performances from local hip-hop artists. Kids are also well looked after this summer holidays with a rotating Thursday night program of interactive gallery and garden tours, free artist-led workshops, spooky storytimes and more.
Kick off your weekend creatively with C-A-C's Sundown Social sessions, which are hosted twice a month in November and January. Let your creativity flow in ceramic ornament-making sessions, try your hand at natural pigment painting, or get your groove in a taster dance class. You can also listen to insightful artists talks with this year’s Fisher’s Ghost Art Award winners or go on a guided tour of the prize-winning works. There will also be a special Sundown Social event for adults on December 2, including a premiere film screening of Christmess, presented by Brick Studios.
After a wander and a workshop, wind down with a refreshing summer cocktail and a delicious grazing board from the Art Café. While feasting, you can enjoy pumping performances from house DJs and rising stars from the C-A-C’s Conscious program that supports Western Sydney’s vibrant hip-hop community.
Children aged six to 12 and their families can join C-A-C’s Sundown Squad every Thursday night with kids’ discos, chalk drawing workshops, spooky storytimes, interactive garden tours, dance workshops, and much, much more. Complimentary refreshments will be served in the foyer, along with themed dinner options, including burger and pasta nights.
C-A-C’s Sundown Sessions are free to attend and you can just turn up on the day with no bookings required. The after-hours initiative is funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Culture Up Late Program. You can explore the November program here, with the January line-up to be announced soon.
