Is there anything scarier than a cemetery at night? St Bartholomew’s Church dates all the way back to 1841 and its cemetery features graves of many early settlers and colonial explorers – including William Lawson, one of the first Europeans to cross the Blue Mountains. Tours are held every two months and their Halloween special will be their last until 2018. Creep around the churchyard on Halloween and you might run into the ghost of John Pond, former church warden and grave digger, or the ghost of Benjamin Hallen the ‘sea captain’ who gets very upset with people laughing or snickering near his vault.
