Have your ears peeled for an announcement from your emergency broadcast system, because restrictions have been lifted and dancing has been authorised for use at this party where you can shake off the shackles and “purge” your body of bad vibes.
Universal Nightclub is transforming into a dark, freaky Halloween-esque rave den this Saturday night, May 22, complete with fire twirlers, gogo dancers, and “grinder girls” (think dancers that send sparks flying by grinding with angle grinders and metallic costumes – that’s some big Mad Max energy).
Steer your mind away from a certain film franchise set in a violent dystopian future. Lock, drop and body roll – your weapon of choice is your favourite dance move at this night of unbridled booty shaking.
The Purge Party is the first of an annual event for LGBTQ+ club night DejaVu, which fills the top floor of Oxford Street hot spot Universal with pumping circuit and house music and laser beams every week. DJs Fabricio San, Sacha Belle, DJ Dimitri, Flatline and Munza will be on the decks bringing over nine hours of pumping beats.
The Purge kicks off from 9.30pm and concludes at 7am. Capacity is limited and the party is door sales only ($25), so dress up (or down) in your most frightening costume and join the rampaging party energy – doors are open all night, but no pass outs.
Want more? Why not start your night with dinner and a show in the same venue with Premiere Enchantment, where drag queens take on fairytale princesses and villains over a three-course feast and bottomless cocktails.
