Bondi is going to the dogs, literally. This paw-ty for our four-legged friends and the people who love them is back on so you can have a cheers to canine companions. Bring your own doggo to partake in all the pupper-centric fun, or meet some friendly pooches who will be available for cuddles and adoption.
North Bondi Park, overlooking Bondi Beach, will be transformed into a puppy loving paradise. You can sniff out fur-bulous activities including dog tarot readings, pup pilates, and the DOGUE Fashion Parade. You and your pooch can also get creative and enter the Best Dog Trick and Best Costume Contests, as well as the famous Bondi Doggie Lifeguard Challenge, which provides pups ‘a day in the life experience of a Bondi Lifeguard’. The "VIP judges" panel includes Simon Hill from Plant Proof, Dr Kate Adams from Bondi Vet, Chris Kerr from Waverley Council, and Coco Stedman from Married At First Sight.
This dog’s day out is organised with Pound Paws, a charity all about taking a modern approach to the adoption process and focused on reducing the number of dogs on death row. The event benefits rescue groups including Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, Animal Welfare League NSW, Maggies Rescue, Animal Trust Society and Liberty Foundation. Whether you take along your own mate, take one home, or just get in on some sweet, sweet pats – tails are sure to be wagging.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, May 23. Get in early and you could be one of the lucky first 200 guests who'll receive a KONG doggie gift bag. Afterwards, you can grab a hair of the dog at the after paw-ty at Bondi Beach Public Bar, where they'll be rolling out the red carpet for the pup-arazzi from 3pm. Register your attendance via Eventbrite.
