Time Out says

Liverpool is continuing its worldwide tour with a free summer celebration of Pacific Islands culture over three spectacular nights. Macquarie Mall will transform into an island paradise featuring a full mainstage entertainment program including live music, traditional dances, drumming and fire-twirling performances, along with activities, workshops, markets and giveaways. This is your chance to explore the language, music, cuisine and art from the Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Cook Islands and beyond.

You can start the weekend early at Pasifika Summer on Friday, November 17, with the festivities running from 5-10pm each night until Sunday, November 19. Begin your journey around the Pacific Islands at the main stage where you can enjoy captivating performances from the Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts and local artist and DJ Leo Tanoi. The line-up will also feature passionate singer, looper and guitarist Harley Ruha, and upcoming R’n’B singer-songwriter Emerald Brunt, with more acts to be announced soon.

Experience a global feast including Fijian curries from the Fijian Taste of Paradise, Fijian-Indian vegan street food from Chai Ya Pani, Asian fusion snack packs from Haus of Asia, Hawaiian barbecue from the Big Big Aloha, kiwi doughnuts from Mama Sela’s Polynesian Treats and more.

Once you’ve fuelled up, you can wander through the market stalls selling everything from Polynesian accessories to fashionable matching pet and owner clothing. Bring the whole family along to enjoy free kid’s activities including dance workshops, arts and crafts, airbrush tattoos and games.

Pasifika Summer is proudly funded by Multicultural NSW. You can find out more here.
