They’ve kept the sold-out New Year’s Eve party at Opera Bar going for 17 years, and with every lap around the sun, the bash seems to become more popular. This year, the headline entertainment is party-starting Bermuda Social, whose time-travelling mashups (think Beethoven meets George Michael meets Outkast meets Cardi B) will have you dancing all night and into the new decade.
The tunes won't be the only retro-tinged aspect of the evening. Just for the countdown, the venue is paying homage to the famous discos and nightclubs of the past. Sequins, plunging necklines and dramatic dance moves are encouraged.
Tickets will set you back $495 and are available now, and include priority entry to the Sydney Opera House precinct and food throughout the evening. Doors open at 6pm and the party don’t stop till 2am.
