For a relaxed New Year’s Eve event the whole family can enjoy, head to Dudley Page Reserve in Dover Heights. On December 31 this scenic park – which boasts lush lawns, playground facilities and a barbecue area – will transform into one of the hottest lookout spots in the city.
There will be licensed food and beverage stalls (although you’re more than welcome to BYO snacks), jumping castles and face painting for the kids, plus live DJs, music and dancing. You’ll need to bring your own picnic rug, and low chairs without legs are also permitted.
Gates open at 6pm, but if you want to score the best patch of grass, we suggest arriving early (we’ve heard people start lining up from 4.30pm). Wherever you find yourself sitting though, know you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the Sydney Harbour and both the 9pm and midnight fireworks.
Gather your family and friends, and settle in for a night of fun festivities as you wave goodbye to 2021. Ticket prices start at $22.45, but all children under five are free. To secure your spot, head to the website.
