It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a good dog makes everything better. Make that dog a greyhound, multiply it by 40 – and you have yourself a really very fantastic time.
On April 23, 2023, an absolutely huge greyhound rehoming day will be going down at the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park. ‘National Greyhound Adoption Day’ is an event run by Greyhounds As Pets NSW (GAP NSW) that allows people to get to know a whole lot of greyhounds IRL, adopt one, and take them home that very same day.
This big day of dogs will be the group’s biggest yet, with over 40 greyhounds looking for a new home. This is not a drill.
Punters who are looking for a new canine companion are invited to head to Moore Park from 10am, where they will get to meet an adorable array of greyhounds who are all up for adoption. Each of the pooches in attendance has their own unique personality, look and vibe, and you can check out the whole cast before you rock up by clicking right here.
Despite how wild-west this sounds, it’s not without measure. The event will be full of GAP NSW volunteers who will be on board to talk you through the process, and to set you up with your perfect pooch match. The day will also be full of festivities, including market stalls, a live dog show and face painting, meaning that everyone will walk away happy.
In 2022, 33 people walked away with a new furry family member, and this year, it’s expected that the number will rise again. If you are keen, and in the market to find a new greyhound to complete your life, you can pre-register for adoption right here now, or call 1800 696 377 for more information.
Happy pooch perusing!
