A taste of one of New South Wales' great food and wine regions will be coming to the sandy shores of Balmoral when Mudgee Wine and Food Festival pops up on Saturday, August 11. Running along the foreshore of Balmoral Beach, the one-day festival will bring wines by Moothi Estate, De Beaurepaire, Robert Stein Winery, Bunnamagoo Estate Wines and Craigmoor Wines for six hours of tastings in the sunshine.
The cellar door style experience will let you chat with winemakers and sample the fruits of their labour. Mudgee's much loved local providores will also make the trip up to Sydney, so you can try wodges of High Valley Cheese, spicy relishes, hot sauces and sweet syrups from Milnes of Mudgee, and the finest in complex olive oils by Rylstone Olive Press. There will also be a petting zoo and live acoustic music playing throughout the festival.
If you're all about the wine, you'll need to purchase a handful of tasting tokens. Nab five pours for $25 or ten for $45, and head home with a reusable tasting galss.
And if you enjoyed your Mudgee mini-break in Sydney, there's the chance for one lucky festival attendee to score a weekend escape to Mudgee to the tune of $2,000.
