If, for this year’s Mother’s Day, the thought of taking your mum out to brunch in the wild, wild west (aka; every Sydney cafe at precisely 11am on Mother’s Day morning) is a bit unappealing, we recommend you consider taking your business to Pinot and Picasso’s gin, painting and antipasto extravaganza at the Sailor Bar and Kitchen in Northbridge on Saturday, May 7 – otherwise known as ‘Mother’s Day Eve’. We don’t make the rules.
This guided painting class is accompanied by free-flowing cocktails crafted from botanical gin from award winning Silent Pool distillery, with an antipasto shareplate thrown in for good measure. Running from 2-5pm, this bougie art meets booze experience is an extremely zesty way to tell your mum that you love her.
For $150 you get two tickets and two cocktails (each!) upon arrival, as well as an antipasto platter that you and your ma’ can share. Additionally, painting materials and canvasses are provided, with you getting to take your masterpiece home with you at the end of the day.
Essentially, you get to drink botanical gin cocktails, eat artisan olives and paint in a booze-induced stupor alongside the person who has probably given you more kisses than anyone else on the planet. As such, this whole situation might hit better than another seafoam scented candle, although if you really wanted to be a winner, you could always do both.
