A massive French market takes over Killarney Heights Public School’s oval every year, and if you’re a fan of the land of bread and cheese it’s definitely worth a visit.
Put on by the French-speaking Association of the North Shore (FANS), the 14th festival will feature 60 stalls for you to peruse. This includes all the regional produce from around France, so prepare your stomach for croissants, croque-monsieurs, baguettes, saucisson, crêpes, pain au chocolat and many more delicacies you may never have heard of.
There will also be stalls for French fashion, books, films and home decor so you can live your best Parisien life.
Along with the stalls, you can expect historical reenactments in full Napoleonic garb from the 1er d’Artillerie de la Marine, realistic artillery included. And, of course, the usual fair staples, including a jumping castle, face-painting and games.
Make sure you head over to the FANS stall as they’re cooking up homemade treats to help out the bilingual English-French program at the school, so you can indulge on patisseries guilt-free.
