House of Crabs is serving huge seafood feasts with cocktails every Sunday

This is one Sunday session where you're encouraged to get your hands dirty

It’s not hard to argue a case for why seafood and cocktails are a good mix, and House of Crabs believes this so strongly that the Redfern restaurant decided to go and combine the two every Sunday this summer.

Every Sunday from noon to 9pm the restaurant is encouraging punters to 'get shucked' with their menu of boozy bites, spiked milkshakes and oyster shooters. The menu includes seafood-loaded Bloody Marys that come in three different flavours. These cocktails are almost a seafood buffet on their own: the base is made with oysters, creole seasoning and prawns, then you get to make a choice between a whole soft shell crab, a snow crab leg or a king crab leg to top off the whole shebang. Prices range from $23 for a cocktail to $60 for a fishbowl, but if you bring a friend you can get two cocktails for $50.

If you're not a fan of seafood in your bev, check out the menu of spiked shakes and floats, with flavours like maple bacon, cookies and cream and jaffa. The shakes will run you $18 a pop (or $12 for the virgin version), $30 for two and $36 for a fishbowl.

Make sure you try the oyster shooters – they're like fancy treats with a bit of edge. There are two to choose from: Bloody Oyster and Bloody Prawn. They're $10 each, but bring a buddy on Sundays and you can score two for $10.

Get Shucked is on every Sunday at House of Crabs, so pop down for a recovery session with your mates and come hungry for all the seafood deliciousness. The offer is available from noon to 9pm, but be warned: the kitchen is only open between noon and 3pm, and 6pm and 9pm.

Book a table for next Sunday pronto.
