What do you do once you stop being a world leader? If Barack Obama’s post-Presidency holiday is anything to go by, it’s time for a well-deserved break. But for former prime minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt, pooling her significant influence and power into becoming the CEO of Save the Children International was an obvious progression.
Now, the ex-PM is headed to the Powerhouse Theatre for an enlightening conversation on courage, power and humanity.
As CEO of Save the Children, Thorning-Schmidt oversees humanitarian and development programs that reach 55 million children from 120 countries. Her mission is to inspire change in the way the world treats children, especially those who have been forcibly displaced from their homes.
This event is a great opportunity to hear Helle Thorning-Schmidt in convo with Dumbo Feather magazine and hear discussions focussing on the modern search for meaning and our human desire for purpose. Thorning-Schmidt will also touch on her extraordinary story of becoming Denmark’s first female prime minister and the immense weight her current role at Save the Children has in the wider community.
