[Sponsored] Summer and seafood go hand in hand, and to celebrate the warmer weather Harbourside Shopping Centre is throwing a week-long seafood festival complete with delicious food, competitions, entertainment.
Throughout the week, the Port will be serving $2 oysters alongside a $12 Gin Fizz cocktail while Kazbah will be offering a hearty two-person seafood hotpot for $49. Or satisfy your unrequited love for raw fish at Sorenzo Contemporary Japanese with their $16 sashimi tartare platter all week.
The highlight of the festival will be the Seafood Bites Market on December 2-3. This is your chance to dine on seafood by the water's edge. Hang out at Darling Harbour and taste soft-shell crab, seafood spring rolls, prawn and pork dumplings, paella and of course freshly shucked oysters and prawns – all while a live outdoor DJ sets the mood as the sun sets over the Harbour.
During the weekend market an oyster and prawn bar will be open at Blue Fish and when you’re done digesting the briny deep you can finish with Greek honey doughnuts or ice cream from Movenpick. Keep an eye out for the prawn peeling competition, swing dancing on December 2 and a visit from Santa next to the Darling Harbour Ferris Wheel.
If you prefer your seafood sitting down book yourself in for Blue Fish’s six-course seafood dinner on Thursday November 30. You’ll start with Tasmanian oysters with caviar before sampling Harvey Bay scallops, lobster and crab tortellini and grilled John Dory. All paired with matched wines and finished with cheese and a rich chocolate brownie for dessert.
Make the most of the summer seafood while you can. The Harbourside Seafood Festival runs November 27-December 3. For more information visit the Harbourside website.
