When the summer holidays hit, the city comes alive with fun activities for kids. But what about big kids (cough adults cough)? Adults also deserve to have fun this summer and the Maritime Museum has it all. No, really – we’re talking building Lego, life drawing, sunrise yoga and Aperol parties for grown-ups.

So dive into our list below, and most importantly have fun.

2025 is the year of the spritz, which if you ask us, is always the vibe in summer. Of course, the king of the spritz is the humble Aperol Spritz, and if you’re a self-professed Aperol girlie then you can’t skip Aperol Arvos at the Maritime Museum. Sip on a refreshing spritz and delight in yummy nibbles while you’re transported to the rich Italian coastline, and if you're lucky, accompanied by a beautiful sunset. Book your session at the website here.

Don't you miss the days of playing with Lego on your living room floor and being extra careful not to accidentally step on a brick (remember how painful that was?) Yep, those were the days. Well luckily those days aren’t fully behind us, as you can now unleash your inner child at Bricks n Beers at Maritime Museum.

This fun-filled evening for grown-ups is being held at Bricktopolis, the museum’s indoor Lego playground where an underwater city is currently being built. Relax with a drink in hand from the on-site bar and snack as you build. Feeling competitive? You can also try the speed-build contests and connect with fellow Lego enthusiasts. For more info to book your place, head to the website here.

This summer, Gladdy Drawing Club reimagines traditional life drawing, pairing figure models with boats and a lighthouse as striking subjects. These free sessions will inspire you to create a masterpiece using nautical imagery and the human figure. Life drawing classes are by the museum's waterfront, so do not forget to bring sunglasses and a hat. Drawing is in the boardwalk amphitheatre right next to a coffee cart. Gladdy Drawing Club is free, but make sure to reserve your spot here.
