You don't need to be in Melbourne to have a fantastic Melbourne Cup Day. Over at The Star they're celebrating all the glamour and glory of Australia's biggest horse race with food and beverage packages, fine dining, live entertainment and fashion on the field-style prizes. Don your best dress or suit and book your table for Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday, November 7.

Melbourne Cup Day deals at The Star

Feel like a bit of modern Italian fare to complement your Melbourne Cup do? Balla is hosting a four course Melbourne Cup luncheon for $140 per person. You'll start with oysters (naturally) before selecting an entrée and main, then wrap up for the race with a tiramisu. Plus you get a glass of Moët & Chandon on arrival. Buon appetito!

Beautiful food will collide with beautiful fashions when the Melbourne Cup comes to Sokyo. The elegant Japanese restaurant will have its usual a la carte menu on offer, but if you really want to get in the spirit, order their special Melbourne Cup dish – a 500g rose veal tenderloin with broccoli and anchovy sauce ($70). Best dressed on the day will go in for a chance to win a luxury prize.

Harvest Buffet
Harvest Buffet

What's not to love about a buffet? The Star's Harvest Buffet is doing a Melbourne Cup Day deal for $55 per adult and $25 per child. It's cup day, so of course grown ups get a glass of bubbly on arrival, as well as the standard buffet and unlimited soft drinks. Make sure to visit the buffet's pièce de résistance: their generous oyster display.

If you're serious about the races but couldn't make it to Flemington this year then 24/7 Sports Bar is your next best bet. They're offering VIP table packages that place you in the best seats to view the race on their massive LED television screen. The package also includes premium beer, a bottle of Moët & Chandon and antipasti, seafood and hot food platters.
