This fledgling feminist event was established in 2016 to support feminist writers by gathering together the country’s finest activists and literary minds to unravel the intersection of storytelling, social justice and womens’ lives. It’ll make its way to Sydney for the first time this year, with three days of interactive discussions and activities led by some of the country’s leading feminists, writers and activists.
Across 12 sessions, 40 presenters will discuss feminist opinion writing, writing about violence, writing to spark change, how to pitch stories and how to maintain your feminist voice. From November 1-3, you’ll hear from speakers including poet, teacher and researcher Evelyn Araluen, prominent feminist columnist and former first assistant secretary for the Office of the Status of Women Anne Summers, and emerging Sydney writer and literacy advocate Winnie Dunn.
