Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of Darling Quarter’s buzzing dining precinct during Vivid. The precinct is lighting up from May 26 to June 17 with some of the festival’s most interactive light installations, plus 12 free concerts from local and international artists, and Vivid-themed culinary creations.
Darling Quarter has leaned into this year’s theme, Vivid Naturally, with a Night Walkers exhibition inspired by the stunning skin patterns of frogs and a colourful Spectrum of Happiness swing set. You can embark on a thrilling scavenger hunt to find all eight frog sculptures across the Vivid Light Walk, with each representing an endangered species. Then connect with your inner child as you swing and sway on the movement-activated swing set, which lights up with a rainbow of LED tubes and balls.
Music enthusiasts and frugal festival lovers can lose themselves in 12 nights of free entertainment at Tumbalong Nights. Sponsored by Commonwealth Bank’s Indigenous Careers, the stage will light up with unmissable acts like Youthu Yindi, Kutcha Edwards and Dan Sultan. Plus, Triple J Unearthed High will celebrate 15 years on Friday June 2 with performances from current finalists and previous winners.
Complete your city adventure with dinner, dessert and drinks at Darling Quarter’s many incredible restaurants. Retailers are joining the Vivid Naturally party with exclusive menu items that hero a natural ingredient. Your tastebuds will illuminate with bright purple ube milkshakes from Dopa Donburi and Milkbar, light-up fruit teas from Chatime, smoked raspberry cocktails from Braza and colourful Candy Wonderland and Apple Rhubarb scoops from Gelatissimo. If you need more fuel before your big night of walking, there’s also UFO chicken with cheese fondue from Goobne, spicy chilli noodles with a free popsicle from Doodee Noodle, and wok-fried scallops with dragon fruit from MuMian Dining.
