This cardiothoracic surgeon (that’s a heart and lung specialist for us laypeople) is one
of just nine women in the country working in her position. “I’m also really passionate about technology to do with transplants, and women’s heart disease,” Stamp says. Alongside her clinical work, Stamp does extensive work mentoring women in surgery, and other roles in which females are underrepresented.
In the future Nikki hopes Sydney: “Leads the way in terms of gender equality, to show everyone else how to do it.”
