And just like that, the Christmas season has arrived, and we don’t know about you, but we’re ready to see out this year with a bang. If there’s one place to get you feeling merry and bright in Sydney this December, it’s at Luna Park. Dance and prance your way on in through the famous smiling gate and you’ll discover that the amusement park has undergone a festive transformation with special seasonal treats, characters straight from the North Pole and appearances from the big man in red himself.
For the special price of $50 per person, you can spin, twirl and twist your way around the park with unlimited rides – including the brand new Power Surge, which sweeps and rotates you horizontally as you rise up to 20 meters high, and the Round Up, where you can experience the full force of gravity as you spin high up into the air.
But there’s much more than rides to get you in the holly jolly spirit. The elves will be whipping up an X-mas Factor show, and you can join Santa’s helpers, Lunabob and Lunabelle, for a physically distanced Santa photo on the Coney Island stage (for an additional fee). That’s right, Old Saint Nick will be there in the flesh to bring joy to all the children who’ve been good through this rather strange year.
Luna Park’s Christmas wonderland is open every Saturday and Sunday throughout December, with day time sessions from 10.30am-4pm and evening sessions on Saturdays from 5-10.30pm. From Saturday, December 19, Luna Park will be open daily until Christmas Eve. Note that Santa photos will be available at the day time sessions only.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and extra health and safety measures will be in place. Gather the kids (or the kids-at-heart) and book in your visit here.
