Time Out says

Sydney Fringe Festival is ending its sensational 2023 season with a bang by throwing an epic street party on Saturday, September 30. The Carribean-themed closing night celebration will explode into Chippendale’s buzzing Kensington Street with vibrant colours, upbeat tunes and top-notch food. The best part? This street party is completely free, so you have no excuse not to put your dancing shoes on and join the Fringe finale festivities.

Caribe Carnaval will kick off at 6pm, with the celebrations pumping through the street until 10pm. You can dance the night away to tropical tunes that will blast from a Picó – a huge, hand-painted fluorescent-style speaker stack – which is the first in the world outside Colombia.

El Gran Mono, the Pico sound system collective, features MC Kaimán Jiménez and picótero (DJs) Carlo Xavier, Señor Bolivar, La Foxy Fuzz and Tropicante. To round out the celebration of Caribbean culture, there will also be incredible dance showcases by Wendy Nedd Yepes and the saucy Sabor Carnavalero performers.

Come hungry and follow your nose to more than 25 eclectic restaurants, eateries and bars on Kensington Street, such as Holy Duck, Gin Lane, the Old Clare and of course, Spice Alley

Make sure to RSVP for Sydney Fringe Festival’s epic closing night party here.
