Not into Melbourne Cup and the slew of controversy and cruelty that goes with it? Vegan Sydney restaurant Bodhi feels you, and after a sell-out inaugural outing in 2018, the team is hosting its Nup the Cup lunch again this year to help raise funds and awareness for Horse Rescue Australia.
The entirely plant-based eatery will be putting on a signature yum cha banquet – complete with dumplings of all shapes and sizes, barbecue bread buns, tofu pockets with fresh herbs and satay sprouts, as well as dessert – and will allow guests to enjoy time away from the office without having to watch the race.
Pop-up stalls from some of the restaurant's favourite vegan brands will be on site during the day, and there will be raffle prizes given away, as well as a 'Best Dressed' competition and flower crowns available for purchase.
Bookings are essential, and your $70 ticket includes lunch, a glass of Harvest blanc de blancs and a $15 donation to Horse Rescue Australia.
