Lights, camera, action – one of the country’s finest drama schools, Actors Centre Australia, has announced applications are now open for their flagship Degree program.
The highly esteemed training program for students 18 years and over and high school graduates is designed for those wishing to pursue a life on the stage or a successful on-screen career and would like to obtain the highest-quality industry training available.
Auditions for ACA’s Degree program will take place from November 21, with Term 1 commencing in February 2023. International students are welcome and encouraged to apply, too.
The three-year program at the centre in Leichhardt offers sector-specific training by world-class tutors so graduates are best placed to have a successful and fulfilling career in the world of performing arts, both nationally and internationally.
Divided into three x 13-week trimesters, the course explores the process of finding your voice, the demands and the power of live performance and will teach the skills required for camera work and screen acting and how to manage your career as an artist. Experts will cover everything you need to know about the industry including casting, agents, directors, short filmmaking, marketing, funding, sponsorship, touring and start-up information.
Graduates of ACA have gone on to have successful careers in theatre, film and TV, from Disney+ and Netflix shows to headlining festivals both domestically and internationally. Academy Award-nominated actor, singer, dancer and all-round nice guy Hugh Jackman, who is also an ACA alumnus and proud patron, credits the training he received at ACA as playing a crucial role in his success, saying, “ACA lit my passion for the craft and the fundamentals I learnt here are a huge part of the foundations I take to work with me every day.”
Applications for ACA’s Degree program will wrap up soon – make sure you make the cut.
