Time Out says

The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival has distances to suit all runners – from a family-friendly 3.5k to a leg-wobbling 42.2k. Starting at Milsons Point, the courses offer some of the most scenic routes in Sydney, with each distance crossing the Harbour Bridge and finishing up at either the Sydney Opera House or the entrance to the Royal Botanic Gardens.

The race is a legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In 2001 the NSW government approved the continuation of a marathon in Sydney to promote health and fitness for the community. In previous years, the event attracted upwards of 33,000 participants and raised more than $1.7 million for charitable organisations.

All speeds of runner are welcome, from shuffle to sprinter. Take your pick of the Family Fun Run (3.5k), the Bridge Run (10k), the Half Marathon (21.1k) and the Sydney Marathon (42.2k).
