While most flower markets remain the domain of local retailers willing to roll out of bed before 3am to pick out the best of the bunch, now your average plant-loving, sleepy Joe can be part of the flowery fun too. The Kings Cross Flower Markets will offer Sydneysiders an accessible place to purchase fresh-cut blooms.
They’ll open from 9.30am-2.30pm every Sunday, meaning you can still get competitive petals without losing your weekend sleep-in. The floral factory will set up around Alamein Fountain on Macleay Street, offering everything from indoor plants to garden-thriving varieties, cacti, succulents, herbs and colourful pots for planting, in addition to the glorious bouquets of fresh flowers.
Sydney’s busy horticulturalists shouldn’t go without a proper Sunday feed, so there’ll also be a collection of food trucks serving brekky and lunch, as well as a couple of stallholders offering fashion, homewares and antiques to break up the jungle.
