Gould’s secondhand cornucopia is a King Street institution. Its home was once at the northern end of King Street from 1989-2018, and since then the shelves of shambolic literature covering everything from Australiana to communism have moved south, opposite Alice Street and New Theatre. They still stock used and rare books, magazines and records and you'll be surprised by what you stumble across. Early 1970s sex guides? Sure thing. An illustrated history of trout fishing in Australia? Of course. The family-run bookshop has also gone digital and you can order a selection of their collection online.
