Chicken and booze are the focal points for this Pyrmont-almost-Darling Harbour eatery. Whirly Bird is doing rotisserie spit roasted chooks – which come flat and spice or whole and stuffed – and buttermilk fried chicken, served with with pickles and either a chilli honey caramel or smoky barbecue sauce. There's chicken burgers and bahn mi too. Vegans and veggos won't be at a loss either – there's a mini menu (dubbed 'No harm, no fowl') with salt and pepper silken tofu, crumbed eggplant and a vegan power bowl packed out with rice, avocado, wakame, edamame, broad beans, kimchi and sesame.
Cocktails play off classics, like the Sgt. Peppers, which sees a pisco sour shaken up with pink peppercorns and guava; and the Ummagumma, a Margarita riff with Blanco Tequila, lime, toffee syrup and Amaro Averna. There are plenty of local brews on offer (Young Henrys, Balter and Feral brews are on the menu), while the wine list is quite short, focusing on just 10 drops.
