Time Out says

[CLOSED] First came the original two Marionette venues – Balmain and Annandale – then Bondi Picnic and Corduroy followed suit. House Specialty Coffee is the latest hole-in-the wall to start dishing up a cracking cup of Joe with the Little Marionette stamp of approval.

Set on a sunny corner in the backstreets of Chippendale, the House Specialty Coffee isn’t breaking the mould with their mix of milk-crate seats, cupboard-sized interiors and menu of ‘good things on bread’. But why mess with a system that works well? There are always going to be days when you want the whole catastrophe for brekky, but most mornings a thick slice of toast with zucchini pesto, wilted spinach, soft slivers of Spanish onion and roast tomato is all you need to get off on the right foot. This is especially true when the coffee accompaniment is this good. Or go simpler still with avocado on thick-cut pieces of just-toasted bread.

If you've had your victuals and are after something sweet, then the ricotta cannoli is just the ticket – the pastry shell is ever so slightly softened by the sweet cheese filling, and a smattering of dried fruit in the mixture keeps things interesting. Failing that just have a blow-out and get the house-made Mars Bar slice. No nutritional value to be sure, but no self-respecting childhood snack should be good for you anyway.
Notch this one up as another win for Chippo.
