Time Out says

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney is known for its distinctive blend of tradition and modern luxury, and the new winter edition of their much-loved afternoon tea is no different. The menu stays true to the English ritual with an assortment of finely cut sandwiches and delicate pastries that will make you feel like you’re in an episode of Downton Abbey, but with the addition of innovative ingredients will surprise and delight your taste buds.

Rich flavours of fruits, nuts and zesty citrus take centre stage at this afternoon tea, inspired by the warm colours of fallen leaves and the pristine white of fresh snow. Try a vanilla rhubarb stone, a quince and walnut tart, a yuzu snow ball or even a revitalising citrus shot. If savoury sensations are more your thing, opt for a smoked salmon mille-feuille or a few pumpkin tartlets.

Of course, the afternoon wouldn’t be complete without plain and raisin scones served with  homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream to bring things to a comfortingly traditional conclusion.

Packages start from $78 inclusive of two tiers of sweet and savoury treats, along with TWG tea and coffee. For $88 per person can add a flute of Chandon sparkling, or go all out with a flute of Veuve Clicquot for $98 per person.

Winter afternoon tea will be served daily at the hotel from 12-4pm until August 31 and bookings are highly recommended and required at least 24 hours in advance – you can book online here.
