This Mosman café abides by a few rules when it comes to prepping its patties – they need to be made from meat that's local and daily, from cows that are grass-fed and allowed to roam free, and once they're prepared – caramelised and char grilled – they need to provide maximum flavour, whether angus or full-blood wagyu. Happy cows, they reckon, make for happier customers.
The menu features classics like a vintage cheeseburger, a cheese and bacon burger, a federation (lamb) option with beetroot, iceberg, cumin and mint yoghurt, three chicken options, a summer fish burger paired with fennel slaw, iceberg, zesty lime and caper dressing, or Baja fish tacos served with Mexican cream and aioli. Pair your dish with truffle and parmesan fries, sweet potato wedges or classic sea salt fries. They also do shakes in fun flavours – caramel butter popcorn, Zokoko chocolate goddess or Tahitian vanilla. If you don't have anywhere to be after your meal, consider spiking it with a shot of bourbon, vodka or scotch. Freshly made sodas (lemongrass and kaffir lime; watermelon and ginger crush or creaming soda) can be mixed with gin, vodka or Pimm's.
