Sydney Dance Company’s café is looking for an operator

The SDC’s revamped café space needs someone with the right moves to run it

In 2018, the Sydney Dance Company began the process of revitalising its home base at Pier 4 in Walsh Bay (while its daily operations moved to studios in Ultimo). Part of the NSW Government’s redevelopment of the Walsh Bay precinct, the revamp involves the upgrading of the four existing dance studios and the building of a fifth; an upgrade to the foyer; enhanced gym and physiotherapy facilities; refurbishment of the administration offices; and new production facilities.

The on-site café has also been refurbished, and now the 50-year-old dance company is accepting expressions of interest to find the right people to operate it: providing fortifying flat whites for the company’s active dance-class customers, drinks for theatre patrons, and lunches for the staff of local businesses.

Sydney’s best and brightest dancers and eager dancer aficionados – does that sound like the kind of clientele for you? Expressions of interest are now open and will close on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 3pm. An industry briefing is also planned for Tuesday September 8.

Inquiries can be made with Stephen Kelly at Hospitality Management Australia – skelly@hospitalitymanagement.com.au or 02 9986 1255.
