The jewel of Sydney's southeast, Westfield Eastgardens, has just unveiled the final stages of its mammoth $45 million redevelopment and the verdict is in: it's delicious.
The much-loved shopping centre's new restaurant precinct features six great new restaurants – Bondi Pizza, Ribs and Burgers, Lang Suan Thai, Sedap Malaysian, Kingston and Co and San Churro – all located in an indoor-outdoor area with double-sided paved paths.
When you enter Sedap Malaysian in the new dining precinct, you’ll feel like you’ve left Australia and been transported to the hawker-food stall streets of Malaysia. And with an extensive menu of starters, mains, desserts and drinks, you’ll be coming back for more.
For something different, try the piping-hot bowl of spicy baby pipies in black bean sauce. Then go traditional with Char Kway Teow (stir-fried rice noodles with fish cake, prawns and sambal chili), or for something a bit meatier, try the Horlicks Ribs coated in a ground-coffee rub. Want an uber-traditonal go-to? Try the laksa. Thirsty? Get your lips around a Teh Tarik – a frothy condensed milk tea.
There are so many options. And as a bonus: hit the restaurant precinct Thursday (6-9pm) or Friday to Sunday (11.30am-2.30pm & 6-9pm) to hear live music.
