For homesick British expats, we have very good news. The Sly Fox is about to start serving 18-hour slow cooked wagyu beef brisket loaded bagels or beigels, thanks to the opening of Salt Beef Beigel. Emulating London's East End institution Brick Lane Beigel Bake, this venue-within-a-venue will be baking soft Jewish-style bagels for the Inner West. If brisket with bright mustard ain't your thing then you can order up a vegan chickpea-crusted cauliflower version. Coeliac friends can also get around the handheld action, with gluten-free beigels available too.
Along with hunks of salted beef, you'll also find crunchy waffle fries, where the sauce is the star. Choose from confit garlic aioli, chilli jam, smoky barbecue, toasted cumin and lemon aioli, gravy, hot sauce or chip shop curry. To add to the mood, there will also be a DJ spinning 'supper' set tunes.
To celebrate the opening of Salt Beef Beigel they'll be dishing out $1 beigels from Tuesday May 21 to Saturday May 25 from 6pm (strictly limited, first come first served).
