The name says it all, really. PeanutButterLove is a concept dessert bar brought to life by two fitness fanatics who felt there was a genuine shortage of sweet treats out there ticking both the ‘tasty’ and ‘nutritional’ boxes. Absolutely everything on the menu is moderately portioned, unprocessed and entirely free of gluten, dairy and refined sugars – but that doesn’t mean they’re skimpy where it counts.
Cookies, doughnuts, slices, muffins, mini cheesecakes and banana bread make up the bulk of the display case, with flavours that change almost daily. Mini magnums and no-nasties ice creams round out the dessert end of the spectrum, but this is a Sydney café at heart, not far from the beach, so obviously there are smoothies and breakfast bowls, too.
If you want to channel the American childhood you never had, order a classic peanut butter and jelly, and call for your coffee with housemade peanut butter should you wish to keep with the theme. Jars of the good stuff are available to take home and even your dog can get a piece of the action – all four-legged friends score a peanut butter biscuit when they visit the shop.
