Don’t be put off by the sea of conical rice hats dotting the ceiling. (Or the fact it practically shares a name with Mama's Buoi, another Vietnamese joint in clear eyesight just up Devonshire Street.) Mum’s Table is all about homemade fare that’s wholesome if not authentic. There are five variations of the banh mi, including crisp pork belly with ginger sauce, marinated roast chicken and braised pork meatball. There are familiar bites and sips, including prawn mousse on sugar canes, chicken or beef pho, and sweet, sweet Vietnamese iced coffee.
