Lower Mekong may look like its own restaurant, situated opposite Automata on Kensington Street, but if you walk through to the back, the exit out is right into Spice Alley. It’s got a Vietnamese sort of vibe, with two different types of pho on offer (one beef, one chicken) alongside banh mi sliders. The tomato broken rice is served with chicken soup, a fried, crisp chicken leg and thigh on the bone alongside carrot and daikon pickles, salad and lots of coriander and mint. It’s quite sweet but still a tasty eat if you fancy sitting in a restaurant rather than out in the hustle and bustle of Spice Alley.
