BL Burgers (who took out Time Out's Battle of the Burger) have set up shop in Newtown, this time with a slightly different concept. Loaded by BL is a choose-your-own-adventure snack party, which will let you create anything from brisket pastrami and beer battered onion ring topped mac'n'cheese to fries piled high with scorched American cheese, streaky maple bacon and garlic bread crumbs.
Using a four-step process, you get to customise your ultimate cheat meal. Start with your base (be it fries, a burger, hotdog, sweet potato fries, onion rings, mac'n'cheese, tater tots or corn chips), select what you want to 'load' it with (ranging from pulled pork to fried haloumi), then add sauce (keep it simple with sriracha, aioli and ketchup or spice things up with wasabi mayo, salsa verde or buffalo sauce), then top it off with some basil, fried garlic or chilli flakes. If there was ever a place to create the most ridiculous, saucy, fried meal you could imagine, this is probably it.
