After more than 20 years in the business, the crew at Le Monde Café know their stuff. The casual Surry Hills eatery offers a diverse menu for breakfast and lunch, mixing café classics with unusual creations and ever-changing specials.
They’re mad for matcha, putting the good-for-you green stuff into lattes and their signature hotcakes. They flip matcha into the batter, then smother the Hermit-green cakes with mascarpone cream, cutting through the richness with fresh fruits and toasted grains. For lunch, it’s hard to go past the chilli bacon burger. When you sandwich together double meat, chilli jam, avocado, mayo and top it off with a fried egg, you can’t really go wrong.
You won’t have to fork out a fortune for a meal either, with nothing on the menu costing more than $16. If you’re just popping in for a caffeine hit, you’ll get to try their special blend from Five Senses Coffee.
