There may be a second Green Peppercorn above the Civic Hotel in the city, but for a serious Laotian and Thai spread people still flock to the original Fairfield venue in the Fairfield Hotel for marinated dried beer, barbecued ox tongue, coconut chicken soup, papaya salad, larb and green chilli and basil mussels.
