We’ve all been there: you’re wandering down busy Macquarie Street when hunger strikes. But instead of ducking into a city food court for a hit of something greasy, you can now make your way to the Mint, where the all-new Bullion Store has just opened.
This lovely café is serving up a smorgasbord of delicious goodies, including bagels (the mixed seed bagel with pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, pickled red onion and a Russian dressing is our top pick), healthy salads and freshly baked pastries.
The single-origin coffee is courtesy of the Little Marionette – so you know your caffeine hit is going to be a satisfying one. It’s best enjoyed on the Mint’s beautiful columned veranda overlooking the heritage-listed grounds.
There’s no shortage of sweet treats on the menu, either. The ever-changing line-up of desserts could feature anything from a Dutch carrot cake with cream cheese and walnuts, to a yuzu and blueberry cheesecake or a double chocolate, fig and hazelnut brownie. Yum!
And when you’re done feasting, you can browse through a curated range of design, garden, architecture and cook books, plus homewares and gifts. You can even purchase tickets to any of the Sydney Living Museum's historic houses, museums or events, or buy a membership.
Bullion Store at the Mint is open Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 3pm. For more information, head to the website.
